About Me

Hello all, I’m Heather and I have lived in Calgary, Alberta Canada since 1998. I am blessed to have two beautiful children; a son and daughter. I love the outdoors and can often be found out hiking or kayaking in the beautiful Canadian Rockies just outside my door, as much as possible. I lived in Ontario as a child for 12 years and have many wonderful memories from that time in my life. I fell in love with the outdoors living there and with the maple leaf that can be found in many splendid bright colours every fall in that part of the country. I think it reminds me of a time in my life when I was innocent and surrounded by my parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I decided to have that nostalgia with me always and have several colourful leafs tattooed on my body. I love to travel and learn about history, other cultures and ways to grow myself and become more creative. I have a passion for sharing information to support others and this brings me joy and happiness. I have wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl however I never had the courage to follow through and now at 54 I realize I need to fulfill this dream. It’s a big leap from never having written anything aside from a bit of journaling to writing a book so I decided to start with a blog. I truly aspire to be a better version of myself everyday and I hope to connect with each of you at some point. I wish you all the best on your journey…
